News about  "Fast Prize Zoom" our World Record Breaking Filly!   Fast Prize Zoom breaks her own World Record going 300 yards on :14.678 seconds at Sunland Park.  Another record breaking performance in the $300,958 West Texas Futurity at Sunland Park.   On Sunday afternoon at Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino, it was all about Fast Prize Zoom. The two-year-old Oklahoma-bred filly by Shazoom ran a world-record and track record time of 14.678 to improve to 2-for-2 in her young career. Sunday’s edition of the West Texas Futurity was the 50th running of the popular event.

Fast Prize Zoom was a bit unsettled in the gate, but once the race began she raced out of the No. 9 spot and had no trouble in besting her previous time of 14.87 in the trials back on April 4 at Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino.  The brown filly broke her maiden in her first start in the April 4 West Texas trials covering the 300 yards in :14.870, breaking Famous Lane's American Quarter Horse World Record by 1/100th.

First Prize Zoom is the only American Quarter Horse in history to run back-to-back world records in their first two starts. She earned a speed index of 111 while winning the futurity.

She returned $4.40 on a $2 win ticket for her loyal backers and also $4.20 to place and $2.40 to show. Jockey G.R. Carter, who is one of the nation’s top jockeys, won his first-ever West Texas Futurity. Fast Prize Zoom's next start is expected to be this summer at Ruidoso Downs. Stanley and Smith will discuss their options with trainer Wes Giles and make a decision on running in the Ruidoso Futurity(G1) or Rainbow Futurity(G1).

Feature Ten finished half-length back for third with Jodys Money Pop another half-length back in third in the West Texas Futurity(G1).

  • Jack Rabe from Lone Grove, Oklahoma called to let us know some exciting news, two heifers he had purchased from us in the past have become pathfinder cows. To qualify a cow must have produced at least three calves with an average weaning ratio of 105. She must maintain a regular calving interval. So basically she must do her job for a minimum of three years and then continue to do so to remain a pathfinder cow. Our congratulations to Jack on his cattle, it nice to hear our cattle are working in other peoples herds.
